Boothbay Harbor, ME

Thank you for sponsoring Ernestina-Morrissey!

Harold Burnham and shipyard crew will present the ongoing rehabilitation of National Historic Landmark Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey

From fishermen to arctic explorers, and Cape Verdean entrepreneurs many people have depended on the beloved Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey for their livelihoods since she was first launched in 1894. At 156 ft, she carried Gloucester fishermen to the Grand Banks, Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. Today, she is a piece of living history and an important educational vessel that is cherished for her ability to teach us about our past. She will not join us in the Parade of Sail as she is under rehabilitation and in good hands at The Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor , but you can visit her in dry dock during a Reception and Tour. No tickets are necessary and all are welcome. Donations will be accepted and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Schooner Ernestina-MorrisseyAssociation.  To learn her rich history and future plans, visit http://www.ernestina.org/.  To learn more about Boothbaty Harbor WIndjammer Days visit https://www.boothbayharborwindjammerdays.org/ernestina-oysters
